As a Financial Advisor for Raymond James, Doug focuses on listening to each client because he believes everyone’s needs and financial goals are unique to them.

Offering a wide range of investment services and employing a comprehensive approach to wealth management, Doug is committed to helping clients achieve their financial goals. Specializing in planning based investment strategies, he works with clients to design investment portfolios to meet their individual needs.

Before joining Raymond James, Doug worked at a major bank owned financial services firm for 15 years, where he served as a Wealth & Investment Advisor.

Doug is a graduate from the University of Lethbridge. He completed the Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA®) designations. A firm believer in continuing education, Doug enhances his experience by regularly pursuing additional professional development opportunities. Doug is proud to have been made a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®) which is regarded as the highest honour in Canadian financial services.

Born and raised in Calgary, Doug enjoys spending time skiing, golfing and travelling with his wife, who is a junior high school Principal, and their children. Doug and his family believe in giving back to the community – Habitat for Humanity, Brown Bagging for Kids, Meals on Wheels and Feed the Hungry are a few of the organizations they have been involved with over the years.

Financial Planner

Craig Thomas is a Financial Planner with the Raymond James Ltd. Retirement and Financial Planning Team. Craig helps clients plan for all areas of their financial picture, including retirement planning, risk management planning, education funding, business planning, estate and trust planning, and tax planning.

Craig graduated from MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta and has also earned the Registered Financial and Retirement Advisor (RFRA) designation, the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation. Since joining the Financial Services Industry in 2009, Craig has earned the “Best of the Best” award 3 times, either as part of a team or individually.

Craig is married and has a son that he enjoys spending time with. He also enjoys reading, watching movies and kickboxing.

Renee began her career in the financial services industry in New Zealand, where she worked as an investment advisor for four years at one of New Zealand's largest financial services firms. The call of the Rockies beckoned, and she moved back to her birthplace of Calgary last year to join Raymond James. Renee is passionate about communicating investment concepts in a digestible manor to a range of audiences, providing the support and advice necessary to help clients achieve their goals.

Renee completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology at Victoria University of Wellington. After a stint working as a geologist for the New Zealand government and with an oil & gas company, she completed a Master of Management at the Sauder School of Business, UBC. During this program, she discovered a passion for the stock market, investing and finance, leading her to a career in financial advisory services. Renee has taught several investor basics courses and is involved in Women's Wealth workshops and events.
